About Me
My name is Lee Kemp and I’m a writer and director. I do most of my work for Fullrange Films, for whom I am also a company director, but I am available for external projects.
My photography is mainly for fun though I have produced professional portraits and product shots.
I like films, books, golf, squash, snowboarding, curious facts and challenges.
Everything looks better if you film it from the floor.
Bio
I joined the Army at 19 and was fortunate enough to serve a number of operational tours including Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan. I left the Army to pursue a career in film and studied Film with Television Studies at the University of Warwick as an (apparently) mature student.
During my studies I became involved with the students running the university TV station and we have since formed the company Fullrange Films. Along the way we acquired Oakslade Studios for post production and CD/DVD/USB duplication.
Within Fullrange I am responsible for the development of new business, acquiring new film projects and overseeing the marketing. I love my job because it has simply the best bonus system in the world. The more film projects I sell, the more projects I get to direct.
I don’t like the ‘favourite film’ question, but I do like the favourite directors question. Here’s my answer:
Michael Mann, Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Steven Soderbergh, David Fincher, Park Chan-Wook, Danny Boyle, Shane Carruth, Shane Meadows, Chris Nolan, Bryan Singer, Ji-Woon Kim, Takeshi Kitano and Matthew Vaughn.
My desert island discs would be Battlestar Galactica, The Wire and The West Wing. The complete box sets of all three would keep me going for at least two weeks before I’d even think about building a boat.
